Follow this simple tutorial to replace the battery in your Volvo S80 (2006 – on), Volvo V70 and XC70 (2007 – on), S60 and V60 (2010 – on) and XC60 (2008 – on).
The specs for your new battery are:
Petrol Engines 4 and 6 cylinder: 12v, 62Ah 520A battery (optionally: 12v, 80Ah 700A battery)
Petrol Engines 5 cylinder: 12v, 62Ah 520A battery (optionally: 12v, 90Ah 800A battery)
Petrol Engines V8: 12v, 72Ah 600A battery[insert_php]$link_name =’bateria_H6_600A’; $FileLocation = “/inclds/insert_amz_ass.php”;include($_SERVER[“DOCUMENT_ROOT”].$FileLocation);[/insert_php] (optionally: 12v, 90Ah 800A battery)
Diesel Engines 4 cylinder: 12v, 80Ah 700A battery
Diesel Engines 5 cylinder: 12v, 90Ah 800A battery[insert_php]$link_name =’bateria_H8_800A’; $FileLocation = “/inclds/insert_amz_ass.php”;include($_SERVER[“DOCUMENT_ROOT”].$FileLocation);[/insert_php]
The battery is located in the right side of the engine bay, near the windscreen, under 2 covers:
1. Unclip the 4 retainers and pull the cover up.
2. Remove the rubber strip, half way to the middle of the car.
3. With a philips screw driver rotate the plastic screw 1/4 of a turn to the left.
4. Pull the second cover up to remove it.
5. With a 10mm socket wrench undo the negative terminal, and remove it from the battery. Next, do the same on the positive terminal.
6. With the 10mm socket wrench, undo the screw to the bracket that holds the battery down, and remove the screw and braket.
7. Remove the battery and replace with a new one.
To install, reverse this procedure, making sure that you connect the positive cable first.
