Follow this tutorial to replace the upper engine mount on your Volvo S60 (2000 to 2010), S80 (1998 to 2006), V70 (2000 to 2007), XC70 (2000 to 2007) or XC90 (2003 to 2015) with Petrol engine.
Upper engine mount Volvo part number is:
- 30680770 (square one) for:
– S80, XC90 and V70 FC1 chassis number 494641-on
– V70 FC2; chassis number 494816-on
– XC70 chassis number 190261-on
– S60 chassis number 459988-on - 8649597 (round one) for:
– V70 FC1; until chassis number -494640
– V70 FC2; until chassis number -494815
– XC70 until chassis number -190260
– S60 until chassis number -459987
Note: On V70 models, FC1 refer to cars made in Torslanda factory (position 11 of VIN as “1”) and FC2 to cars made in Ghent factory (position 11 of VIN as “2”).
This job will will take you around 30 minutes, just follow this steps:
Step 1 – With a T25 torx key remove the screw (in green in the picture) holding the turbo pipe
Step 2 – Remove the cover over the ignition coils. You’ll need to remove the 8 screws (marked with red in the pictured below) with a T30 torx key. There is one screw that sits below the turbo pipe but you can remove it if you slightly move the pipe to the right.
Once the screws are removed you’ll be able to remove first the left part of the cover (2. in the image) and then the right one (3. in the image). The left cover have a small clip (1. in the image) as pictured below:
Step 3 – Remove the center nut on the upper engine mount. The screw is 15mm (A) and the nut is 18mm (B)
Step 5 – Using a 14 mm socket remove the 4 screws (A) that hold the engine mount to the engine. (One of the nuts is hiden behind the right side of the engine mount, as highlighted below)
Step 6 – Remote the old engine mount and intall the new one. Be sure to remember the screws positions. The two longer screws are on the left side and the two shorter one on the right sid
Step 7 – Re-install the 4 screws (A) of the engine mount and torque them to 50Nm . Insert the screw and nut (B) for the torque rod mounting in the upper engine mount and ighten to 80 Nm.
Step 8. Re-install the engine cover, and you’re done!
