This repair becomes much easier if you pull the radio out and remove the lower face plate.

These instructions do not wor for the 2005 model year V70. There is no pen holder to start with. The removal of the ccu is quite involved and if you wish I can send in the method. I have just removed my unit to replace some of the light bulbs.

A quick note, although Volvo state the later Geartronic boxes do not require maintenance (Aisin Warner TF-80SC), it is highly recommended you flush the fluid out and change it anyway. Remember it uses JWS 3309, not regular ATF.

In reply to PETER GROEN. Hi. The oil that Volvo recommends is 0W30 from Castrol. How many miles do the car have and what oil have it used so far? Does it burn oil?
